A Note from Missy Lane’s Assembly Room

After two beautiful years, Missy Lane’s Assembly Room LLC is now permanently closed.

We want to sincerely thank the city of Durham for making our dream of opening a world-class jazz and performing arts venue come true. Together, we created unforgettable memories and shared the stage with some of the world’s most legendary jazz musicians right here on East Main Street.

While the doors to our physical space have closed, our mission continues. Through our nonprofit, Missy Lane’s Charitable Foundation (under the fiscal management of Unmanageable), we remain committed to expanding the audience for jazz through education, performance, and community programming.

The Missy Lane’s Block Party and other music education initiatives will go on  and we invite the city to keep the music alive by supporting these next chapters. You can help by making a donation, purchasing merch, or spreading the word. Every act of support helps us close out our festival commitments and continue building spaces where jazz and community can thrive.

This isn’t goodbye.  It’s a reset and redirection of energy toward the work of growing the jazz audience, both here in Durham and beyond.

We’ll continue to share where you can find live jazz in the Triangle as well as other places during our travels, so please follow us on social media and subscribe to our newsletter to stay connected and discover upcoming jazz events in the area.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to every member, donor, artist, DJ, volunteer, staff member, and guest who has been part of our story.

With love and gratitude,
The Missy Lane’s Team
